CUSTOMER STORIES: Oakes Insurance has peace of mind thanks to Stone’s secure IT recycling services
“I was really impressed how Jamie, our account manager took the time to learn about Oakes Insurance and develop a relationship with us. I am 100% happy to recommend Stone’s recycling services to other companies, they are a great company to do business with.”
Sean Kinsella, Partner with Oakes Insurance
Background
Based in Long Eaton, Nottingham, Oakes Insurance is a high-quality, personal and professional insurance company which includes a wide range of services, from motor and home insurance, to property management and professional indemnity insurance. The company is well known and highly regarded in the area where it has been operating for over 30 years.
Situation & Solution
“We were introduced to Stone through a networking event and were impressed with the company’s values and ethos,” said Sean Kinsella, Partner with Oakes Insurance.
“We were even more impressed to learn that Stone would take away our used equipment for free and would, where feasible, recycle it and if that was not possible, they would securely destroy it. Using Stone was a no brainer.”
Stone collected more than 25 pieces of equipment, and despite it being a small initial collection, Sean was impressed with the process involved and the complete traceability available at every step.
“Unlike our previous company, Stone kept us up to date throughout,” he said. “The equipment was collected exactly when Stone promised it would be. We were informed when the equipment had reached Stone’s recycling centre, when it has been processed for recycling or been destroyed – and then we received the relevant paperwork a few days later.”
Highest levels of security from Stone
Stone is proud to have its own secure recycling facility at its Staffordshire head office. Stone is committed to ensuring the entire recycling process follows the methods of best practice and assumes the highest levels of security.
As a company regulated by the Financial Services Authority, Oakes Insurance was particularly keen that Stone had secure data erasure.
Sean said: “Most of our data is cloud based storage but we do ensure that we remove any data from equipment ourselves before recycling. Nevertheless, having that additional layer of data wiping offered by Stone and the accompanying audit report and certification of disposal, adds additional peace of mind for us and our clients.”
Stone’s certifications include ISO 27001: Information Security Management, ADISA Distinction with Honours, DIPCOG and Cyber Essentials and data-wiping software Blancco. Industry leading in data-erasure, Blancco boasts the highest security standards, equivalent to that of the MOD, meaning Oakes were completely reassured that their data would stay theirs.
