We collect your items at a convenient time for you wherever you are based in the UK and individually grade every item. Our priority is zero waste to landfill so we gurantee this by reusing your items where we can, we safely remove any data so there’s no risk of data breaches. Most of the time the products we receive simply need the data to be removed and we can find new owners. This saves on all the manufacturing impacts of buying new, saves the environment by reducing carbon emissions, transportation, reduces water and energy consumption in production, saves mining harmful chemicals such as lead and cadmium and also reduces plastic consumption.
You get to know what happens to your device as we track its journey, whether we resell the product, or it is broken down to components. If the product is manufactured before 2009 we are unable to resell due to the government regulations on harmful chemicals but we can break down the device saving valuable metals and reusing plastics. This urban mining enables us to recycle materials again with the commitment of zero to landfill, saving on raw materials sourcing and the energy and water required to mine these materials.
It is clear from using the 360 app that you are helping to protect the environment but at Stone, we recognise that there needs to be the social and economic benefits too. We valuise your device and provide rebates, over £3m rebated so far; we even provide the option to share this rebate with your preferred charities or use it for new products. We partner with the National Forest and Ecologi who are planting trees and regenerating derelict land, creating new habitats and increasing biodiversity.
